I agree with you that the power of conversation is greater than just listening to someone speaker at the front during professional learning. Our school systems is transforming into learning communities that are more focused, have structure with protocols, develops teachers as leaders and is facilitated most times by teacher coaches. Some school are further along than others, but seeing the change take place validates the importance of learning communites. Summer conferences are about to kick off so your throughts about conversations in large conferences caught my attention. How can we change the focus during the large conferences to create a learning community feel without losing people? I would love to see how others are achieving this or their ideas.
